Solaris is the visual language of Sydney-Based, Fine Art Photographer, Meagan Macintosh. At Solaris, Meagan creates imagery using both contemporary and retro equipment and techniques to achieve high-end photographic works incorporating elements of esoteric surrealism, colour theory, and curiosity. The bodies of work crafted under Solaris are print-ready to be represented in the likes of magazines, fashion, commercial gallery & exhibition spaces and as collector pieces.
With a recorded increase in recent market growth of galleries and museums across Australia, it’s evident that we are hungry today for unique artistic experiences amongst the era of fabricated AI ‘artworks’. Meagan’s photography highlights the ‘human experience’ & organic curiosities of our universe, unique emotions, dreams and the beyond. Each body of work is created with a story of both the creation process, and the why behind the work. Inspired by 1960's/70's retro sci-fi, romanticism, botanicals, energy alignment, esoteric arthaus film and fashion imagery, Meagan shoots by encouraging a collaborative, expressive and freeform atmosphere. She approaches visual story-telling by working with subjects as a medium of self-expression.
With roots in floral design and a deep sensitivity to visual detail, she brings an intuitive, ritualistic approach to her work-treating each shoot as a process of uncovering something raw, powerful and real.
Currently studying Photography & Photo Imaging at Billy Blue College of Design, Meagan is building a body of work that reflects her evolving creative vision - one that honours individuality, transformation, colour and emotional depth. Through her lens, subjects are not just seen - they are revealed.
